Vietnam’s Village Life: Traditions, Markets & Craftsmanship

There’s a quieter side of Vietnam you only reach by slipping off the main river and into the narrow waterways by small boat. Here, daily life unfolds at its own rhythm, villages where artisans still practice their craft by hand, some producing goods the original way, while others showcase long traditions in markets that are gently adapting to a changing world, still rooted in their cultural heritage.

We visited weavers where the entire village hums with the steady rhythm of looms, and even a place cultivating plants destined for luxury gardens across the country. It’s in these places, just beyond the busier scenes, where the experience becomes more personal… and where the culture truly comes to life.
